Video Duplicators

Overseas Conversions

It may be a small world but not when it comes to video formats. There are 3 major types of video formats in use around the world and none of them are interchangeable with each other. The reason why lies in the different television signal formats used around the globe. If you traveled to England with your VCR, you wouldn't be able to record anything off of the television because your VCR is built for the NTSC signal used in Canada, the United States, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines.

NTSC - National Television Standards Committee. The oldest existing standard, developed in the USA. First used in 1954. Consists of 525 horizontal lines of display and 60 vertical lines.

PAL - Phase Alternating Line. Developed by German engineer Walter Bruch and the German electronic corporation Telefunken. Walter Bruch patented his invention 1963 and the first commercial application of the PAL system was in August 1967.  Also a 625/50-line display and variant of NTSC.

SECAM - Système Électronique pour Couleur avec Mémoire. Developed in France. First used in 1967. A 625-line vertical, 50-line horizontal display.

The cost for overseas conversions is the same as a normal video to DVD transfer of $29.99/hr based on the running time of your program.
